What should I include in my written description of Indigenous identity?

Each applicant must provide a written description in their application that describes their relationship and connection to their Indigenous identity. This may include familial connections or nationhood and it may also include displacement. We understand that you may not know your nation or community due to the impacts of colonial practices. Tell us about your lived experience as an Indigenous person and share your truth. Applicants are not required or expected to provide any private information that causes them harm. The written description of Indigenous identity will be reviewed by Indigenous moderators and the Indigenous Selection Committee.
